i-motion gym, from Rotherham, has been shortlisted for a prestigious fitness industry award having beaten off competition from gyms all over the country.
The club has been shortlisted in the Best Budget Gym category in the National Fitness Awards, the biggest free-to-enter awards in the industry, which recognise excellence, innovation and achievement in gyms.
The national awards are organised by leading fitness industry magazine Workout, with support from headline sponsor ServiceSport, and in each category up to seven finalists, including i-motion gym of Rotherham, have been selected from the hundreds of entries.
Managing Director of i-motion gyms, Gareth Evans, commented, “when we set up i-motion gym we had a very strong vision, to redefine affordable fitness. Our business model allows us to offer our customers state of the art equipment at the most affordable prices. The feedback we have had from our members has been fantastic and we are thrilled to have been nominated for this award.”
The gym will now be visited by a member of the National Fitness Awards’ team who will take a look around the facilities, interview the manager and chat to members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to choose the worthy winners.
They will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday December 4 at The Athena in Leicester, which will be hosted by fitness entrepreneur and TV personality Katie Bulmer-Cooke and Olympic swimmer and commentator Steve Parry.
Lead Manager of i-motion, Rick Thompson, also added “last year we won the Best Gym in Yorkshire and Humberside, which was voted for by our members, whilst this was fantastic we are always looking to improve. As a result we have just completed a significant refurbishment of the site in Rotherham to offer more weights, training and social areas.”
National Fitness Awards’ director Judith Halkerston said: “It’s been another great year for the National Fitness Awards with an excellent standard of entries – the work going on in fitness facilities up and down the country is inspirational and every gym which has made the shortlist should be very proud of their achievement thus far. Congratulations to them all.
“The NFA team members are busy packing their bags and preparing to travel thousands of miles from as far north as Aberdeen to Cornwall and The Channel Islands in the south to see the fantastic work that is going on up and down the country every day within the health and fitness industry.”Back to Blog
