New Year, New You….

By Gareth Evans, i-motion gym Managing Director.

I fully understand the New Year rush that is experienced by gyms, the foot traffic into gyms can as much as treble during January as we all look to shed the Christmas excess. Christmas is also a costly time and many of us can be left feeling the pinch in January. A gym can be a cost effective way of spending your leisure time. Our gym gives members the opportunity to come to the gym, attend classes, use the café and socialise with a great deal of flexibility, and all for the price of one cinema ticket!

The gym industry is congested, lets face it and there is plenty of choice out there. What was important to me, when I set out to launch the i-motion brand, was that I had a very clear vision. I am a big believer in technology helping people to reach their fitness goals, and, having worked at budget and high-end gyms, could see the like-for-like benefits people got from using the latest technology. However from a price point of view the ‘high-end’ gyms were simply out of reach for most people.

The goal, and subsequently mission statement, for i-motion became to “redefine affordable fitness”. What we do at i-motion is ensure our initial and ongoing overheads are kept at a level that allows us to equip the gyms superbly whilst offering one of the cheapest membership rates on the market, the result is high-end gym experiences for budget prices.

The important thing for fitness is to be consistent, too many people go all into a diet or fitness plan and then fall off. The result is fluctuating levels of health and weight. One way we have tackled this at i-motion is to offer over 100 classes a week, again this volume of classes is more often associated with the premium gyms and price points, however with us it is included in our membership. The result of this is that our members are able to reach their fitness goals more effectively and consistently.

Whatever your goals are for 2016, we wish you all the luck. We will be on hand over the coming weeks with handy tips and advice in order to help you along the way. Have a healthy and happy 2016. Thank you for your continued support.
