6 Fat Burning Secrets

Burning away unwanted fat can be hard. It’s no secret that it takes regular exercise, a good diet and the right supplementation to get your desired results. #1 Drink More Water

Obvious, right?! Drinking water is essential to normal bodily function. Whilst water is absolutely vital and you should already be drinking around 2 litres a day, without really taking into account all the gym sessions you are doing. Thing is, most people struggle to even do that. Keep a BIG bottle on you at all times.

Not only will keeping hydrated keep your body functioning properly, you will speed up your weight loss. A scientific study conducted in 2010 showed that over a 12 week period, people who drank 500ml of water before their meal experienced an increase in weight loss of 40%!

#2 Take a Cold Shower

Cold showers have been scientifically proven to help your body burn away fat. When you step into a cold shower the shortness of breath, shivering and teeth chattering are all good signs. Your body is starting a process known as adaptive thermogenesis and is quite literally using stored fat as fuel to warm you up.

Other benefits to a cold shower include increased alertness, better hair quality, and improved skin condition!

#3 Go Green

You’ve probably heard of the antioxidant effects of green tea, which is one great reason to drink it. But did you know it helps burn fat too? There’s a type of catechin in green tea called epigallocatechin gallate, which stimulates the metabolism through thermogenesis. Dutch researchers studied 76 individuals who had recently lost significant weight over a 3 month period. Using green tea capsules and a placebo, they amazingly found that those who supplemented the green tea kept off  their lost weight. The placebo group put it back on.

It might be time to swap out that morning coffee!

#4 SLEEP!

Yeah, you read that right. Studies have shown that people who sleep less than 8 hours per night are more susceptible to over eating the following the day. Combine this with a slower metabolism and less overall energy for your workouts, not enough sleep can be very damaging to your fat loss goals.

#5 Change Things Up

Changing training methods and even nutrition can give your metabolism a major boost. Challenge yourself to try new exercises each week and experiment with a mixture of cardio and weights.
